PHOTOMAGIC 44 is a five-day photography camp for youth aged 13 -18. This innovative and intensive week-long camp will utilize the extensive production and darkroom facilities at Gallery 44, focus on our unique location in the 401 Richmond arts building situated among many of Toronto’s leading artist-run galleries, as well as Gallery 44’s location in the heart of downtown Toronto.

Participants will:
SHOOT their own photos with a manual 35 mm film camera (provided by Gallery 44)
PRINT black and white photographs in a traditional wet darkroom
SEE and learn about contemporary art and artists in Toronto
LEARN alternative photo techniques such as photograms and liquid light
TAKE photographic field trips to locations such as Toronto Island and Distillery District
Two sessions (10 am – 4pm)
