Earth Rangers is hiring a Production Coordinator

We fulfill this mission through inspirational school and community shows featuring our live Animal Ambassadors. Earth Rangers is housed at a 60,000 square foot LEED building located at the Kortright Centre for Conservation, north of Toronto.

We are currently seeking a Production Coordinator to cover a maternity leave from November
2009 until December 2010. The Production Coordinator is responsible for the production
elements of the Earth Rangers school show and community events show. In addition, the
individual will provide technical and administrative duties associated with our 50 seat permanent theatre at the Royal Ontario Museum (ROM).

Key Responsibilities:
• Researching, purchasing and ongoing maintenance of all equipment as related to
the production of school shows and community events, including a/v, show sets
and props.
• Sourcing, developing and implementing audio/video assets for the school and
community shows (using primarily Mac based Keynote)
• Training staff on set up and troubleshooting of all touring equipment, which
includes three local teams and one traveling team.
• Site visits and set up of non-school events, which could include but is not limited
to lighting focus, sound set up, booth set up and stage management.
• Act as the coordinator between Earth Rangers and ROM staff to ensure the
quality and consistency of the Earth Rangers Studio at the ROM
• In conjunction with the Earth Rangers Animal Ambassador department, oversee
the staff and volunteers of the ROM program.
• In conjunction with the Education Program Manager, ensure that the quality and
consistency of the shows are maintained from day to day.

Qualifications:
• Post-secondary education
• Previous production experience in the live entertainment industry required.
Touring experience would be an asset.
• Familiarity with Mac platforms, including Keynote, and video editing software
would be an asset.
• Ability to troubleshoot problems with our audio/visual technical hardware
• Passion for the environment and experience working with children or in the
environmental sector would be an asset.
Other Requirements:
• Full Ontario G-class license
• Flexibility as this position will require some evening and weekend work.
• The successful candidate must obtain clearance through a Vulnerable Sector Screening
as a condition of employment.
